The problem
A customer asks where the AdBlue is, and the answer lives in one long-serving member of staff who is on a break. The stock system knows you have forty of them and the aisle code — which is no use to someone standing in the wrong half of the shop.
What it does
StockLocator puts every product on an isometric map of the floor. Type an item name, number or department; the matches appear as buttons; the shelf gets a red pin and the footer names the item, department, shelf and level. It builds to a folder of static files — no server and no database — so it runs on any web host, an in-store tablet or a phone on the shop wifi.
Made for: Hardware, DIY, motor-factor and general stores with a big range and new staff.
How it works
Search
By name, item number, department or shelf.
Pick a match
Every match appears as a button. Tap one to move the pin.
Follow the pin
The shelf is marked on the map, and the footer gives the walking directions.

Good to know
Stated plainly, so nobody signs up for the wrong thing.
- Your stock goes in as a data file that a developer edits and rebuilds. There is no import screen yet.
- Nothing is saved: staff cannot correct locations from the page.
- One store, one floor. The map is a grid built from shelf numbers, not a drawing of your building.
- The barcode scanner is in the source code but not switched on.
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer, to build it
- Any static web host
- A developer to load your stock list
Questions
Does it need a server or a database?
No. It builds to static files and runs entirely in the browser.
Can staff use it on a phone?
Yes. The map scales to the screen. Add it to the home screen like a bookmark.
